Spectrum CNC Technologies, DNC & CNC Communications

Available in 1,2,4,8,16,24,32,48,64,96 or 128 Ports with or without hardware.
Simultaneous communication sessions with up to 128 CNC machines from a single PC at speeds of up to 230,400 baud using the TurboExpress Port RS-232 board with Multi-DNC /2 for Windows and the Comtrol RocketPort boards for all of the other Multi-DNC modules. A terminal server based RS-232 solution is available also using Comtrol VS1000 & VS1100 modules.
DNC network configuration The DNC network can either be set up in a "STAR" configuration, with each CNC directly connected to the central DNC computer, eliminating switch boxes (either manual or electronic) OR a "HUB" configuration can be used, with a shop floor hub that is centrally located to minimize RS-232 cabling distances.
Client-Server Architecture Client Server is is an option that allows multiple Multi-DNC Clients to control one (or more) Multi-DNC Servers over a TCP/IP network. Any file can be sent to any Machine at any time!
Comtrol Ethernet Based hardware The Comtrol VS1000 terminal server hardware consists of hubs mounted in the middle of the shop floor with 4, 8, 16, or up to 64 RS-232 ports per Hub that are connected to an NetBIOS Network. Multi-DNC running under Windows NT can use these "virtual" COM ports over the network. The advantage is shorter RS-232 cabling and centralized network management. Multiple hubs can be used for large shop installations.
NEW Job BASE for packets Job BASE implements a dBase compatible Data Base within Multi-DNC to create, manage and use Packets, which are the electronic equivalent of printed “Shop Travelers” and can also include pictures with up to 280 different Graphic formats. A Packet is a linked list of either single or multiple CNC code programs as well as other documents, CAD drawings, Operations Sheets, Digital pictures of Machine Setups, and Tool Lists.
